Soil Health Assessments and Management Plan

Our soil health assessment will form the main component of our soil management plan and will consist of physical, chemical and biological components. These measurements are required to meet SFI standards. 

Essentials Soil Health Assessment - SFI Compliant

These include : 

• Soil type 
• Soil texture 
• Topsoil depth
• Soil structure (VESS) 
• Infiltration rate
• Steepness and length of slopes
• Organic matter (LOI)
• pH, P, K, Mg 
• Earthworm numbers and worm type.
• Soil Health Score 

Under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI), farmers are paid to

assess soil condition and produce a Soil Management Plan that

identifies risks and sets out actions to maintain or improve soil health. 

We will provide :

• Identification of key soil risks

• Detailed reports that translate results and calculations into a way that farmers can use and apply to their farm.

• An understanding of how your soil is performing and why.

• Recommendations of how to improve soil health and maximise potential. 

• Practical, achievable management actions designed to meet SAM1 requirements.
